Prepare 4 Drop! Image is 4K - zoom in! by nobbe42 Prepare 4 Drop! Image is 4K - zoom in! by nobbe42
The new low orbit drop containers (LODC) are capable of holding 4 large mechs and 4 heavy fast attack vehicles including crews. Protected by strong force fields the containers can be dropped on any planet's surface from a low orbit, allowing ultra fast response times to any threat on the surface.

So you're working on a movie? Is it scifi?

Yep! SciFi! It's the only movie genre I really like :)
However it is also the most time consuming to produce...

Yo! Hope you got an air bag! LOL. That'd be a hell of a ride down.

ha! good idea having an airbag as backup just in case the inertial dampers and force fields fail - as they usually do in most sci-fi movies during mission critical situations...  :)

cool render:D.....(shanenpolis) who need aerodynamics in space anyway?.... no air, so no air resistance either:P

Thanks!

I think shanenpolis was referring to the surface landing... however as I said, inertial dampers and a couple of force fields will do the trick... :)   Anyway - it's science fiction...

Hey thats my middle name ;) and in scifi anything goes....if not, space odyssey2001 would be the only ''acurate'' movie as all others use sound in a vacuum space......& what does sound need 2get noticed?.......right:D              BTW while im here Happy: scifilicious.deviantart.com/ar…

I totally agree! However I still appreciate a somewhat scientific background like e.g. in the good old Star Trek series. On the other hand without fiction there is no imagination and without imagination there are no visions... And often visions one day will come true :)

BTW nice poster! And all the best for 2014 to you!!

Glad u like it w00t!  may awesome art in 2014 come our way:D firework New Horns Shuriken! ..,& agreed on the plausible background but fiction is indeed not yet invented & therefor it takes imagination while anything goes  Sherlock Holmes cheerzzz

I think you mean to say "threat".
I'm also curious about the landing thing. It doesn't strike me as particularly aerodynamic...

Thanks for the spelling hint :)

Well - we have a high energy integrity field / force field to penetrate the atmosphere and protect the crew. Landing forces are being controlled by inertial dampers that work as shock absorber. Procedure has been tested several times and is considered as being safe! :):)

But I can assure you - landing with this thing is a piece of cake - I've tried it!  :)

There is no need for a careful landing :)   as we have a high energy integrity field / force field to penetrate the atmosphere and protect the crew.
